Well, I must say that if anybody needs one remote in their house to do everything – it’s me. I have 7 remote controls and to grab each one of them to do just one task is really getting on my nerves. My 10 month old daughter is also having loads of fun grabbing each remote, playing with it then hiding it so I can’t find it. This makes it even worse of a situation for me when trying to watch TV.

Enter the Harmony 1000 from Logitech. This baby features a 3.5” touch screen (color) that lets you combine all of your remote control devices into one. Not only is the Harmony pretty to look out, it’s just darn-right cool to use. Setting up is a breeze utilizing the Smart State Technology and color touch-screen display. Nothing complicated here, so it’s pretty easy to use. One other cool thing I really liked about this remote was the fact that it transmits in either infrared mode or RF mode by use of an optional RF wireless extender, which lets you put everything behind a cabinet to keep the clutter down.

Now the one thing I definitely don’t like about this remote is the steep price. At around $400-$500 I don’t think I will be getting one any time soon. In fact, if you ask me Logitech should have included the RF device for the price they are asking.
