AT&T tells GoPhone users to take a hike

Monday, December 10th, 2007 | Cell Phone with

AT&T has reportedly told an iPhone-owning prepaid GoPhone subscriber that they aren’t obligated to provide service. So much for being the “most open”. Users of the GoPhone service nationwide have reported problems accessing their name servers on the EDGE network recently.

When disgruntled users contact AT&T, they are being gave the boot. AT&T has offered a wide variety of excuses, including; “The iPhone does not work on GoPhone”, “There is no EDGE service add-on for GoPhone”, and the most humourous “Apple is running its own network for iPhone so we can’t support iPhone issues”. Sounds to us they just don’t want users using prepaid plans so they sign on for contract deals.
